The studio

We build the opposite of joyless learning.

Mohawk Valley Interactive is an educational software studio. The studio — and the method behind it — is the real product; each game is one expression of it.

Why we build

Born from a simple frustration

The world is full of people who want to learn something hard and give up — not for lack of ability, but because traditional learning is joyless.

So we build the opposite

Software where mastering something complex feels like play. Station Zulu — learning Morse code as a spy-thriller radio game — is our first proof that the method works. It won't be the last.

A studio with a soul

MVI was founded by Mike Vittiglio on a conviction: the desire to learn is the greatest leverage there is — the multiplier on every other skill. We build for the self-learners who already have the desire and deserve software that honors it.

Who we serve

Self-learners tackling hard skills: a language, code, Morse, an instrument, a craft. They don't need the subject dumbed down — they need it made compelling. We give them the on-ramp that keeps them coming back.

How we work

The method, up close

We blend software development with pedagogical expertise to build immersive systems that make lifelong learning irresistible.

01

Software development

Production-grade engineering — the game is real software, not a quiz with a skin.

Adaptive intelligence
02

Interactive education design

Learning sequences designed as experiences, where the next step is something you want to take.

Adaptive intelligence
03

Knowledge-retention techniques

Spacing, recall, and feedback loops built into play — so what you learn stays learned.

Adaptive intelligence
04

Gamified learning systems

Trust, stakes, and progression that make practice feel like the story moving forward.

Adaptive intelligence
05

Technical communication

Hard ideas explained precisely and invitingly — never clinical, never dumbed down.

Adaptive intelligence
06

Cognitive-load management

Complexity introduced piece by honest piece, so you're always challenged and never buried.
